Miconex appoint new Finance & Office Manager

Joining Miconex as office and finance manager this April is Julie Mitchell. Julie worked as an office and finance manager for a legal firm from the age of 21 before undertaking a business management degree at 38. Working flexibly, and with plenty of early starts and late nights, Julie was able to combine her full time degree course with her full time position at the legal firm, undertaking tasks such as compliance, legal aid, banking, legal secretarial work and managing policies and procedures.

Despite encouragement from the leadership team at the legal firm to train as a solicitor, Julie enjoyed the variety of her office and finance manager position, including coordinating the apprenticeship scheme and seeing candidates progress and develop. When opting to study for a business management degree, it was the HR, accounts and finance modules that appealed to Julie, with a dissertation in staff motivation. After completing her business management degree, Julie moved from the legal world into sustainable tourism, with a role focused on helping businesses to achieve green grading.

Having worked in Perth for so many years, Julie had heard of Miconex, Mi Rewards and the Perth Gift Card, with the legal firm even having a Miconex newsletter on their reception table. When Julie saw the role with Miconex, she was keen to find out more and was interested to see Miconex’s expansion of the Town and City Gift Cards programme and Mi Rewards across the UK and into Ireland and North America.

Julie is looking forward to working alongside our places, particularly as businesses begin to reopen, and in being a part of the Miconex team driving innovation and transformation in towns and cities. Welcome to the team Julie!
