Miconex have the pleasure of working with towns and cities across the UK to help them develop new gift card programmes using the existing Mastercard infrastructure. As you can see from the list below this model works in places of different sizes from the large cities of Cardiff, Glasgow and Sheffield to the beautiful Island of Arran, population 5,000.
The Perth programme is a partnership between Perth and Kinross Council and Miconex, launched in our home town in December 2015. This programme focusses on indpendent businesses only and its success has allowed Miconex to roll out the programme to other towns and cities across the UK.
Kendal Business Improvement District had already researched local currencies so when Sarah Williams (BID Manager) found out about The Perth Gift Card she immdeiately wanted to find out more and then go on to develop her own programme which is now accepted by over 130 Kendal businesses.
The beautiful Isle of Arran may be the only island in Europe with their own hyper-local currency! Thanks to this go to Visit Arran for identifying that a gift card programme that can be used across all the key businesses on the island would make a perfect gift and of course, the lucky recipients need to visit the island to redeem it!
The Cheltenham Gift Card was launched by Cheltenham Business Improvement District in August 2017. Miconex enjoyed working with Kevan and Belinda at the BID to help explain the programme benefits to the BID businesses and we are delighted to see that there is now a fantastic mix of independents and multiples.

Enniskillen Business Improvement District have launched the first town-wide gift card programme in Northern Ireland. Over 100 business accept the gift card covering a huge range of different business types.
The Newport Now Gift Card – organised and funded by the Newport Now Business Improvement District – can be spent on almost anything, anytime, anywhere in the city centre.
Almost 60 city centre businesses have already signed up to accept the card, with shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and theatres all involved.
Elgin is an attractive town and the commercial centre of Moray, with a population of approximately 23,100. The Elgin Gift Card was launched by Embrace Elgin BID on the 8th June 2018 and has over 70 businesses signed up.

The Strabane Gift Card programme is provided by InStrabane Business Improvement District and is free for all the BID businesses to accept. The Mastercard based gift card is an ideal present for friend and family giving them the choice of over 50 great Strabane businesses
The Wolverhampton City Centre Gift Card is a great gift for anyone and everyone. Accepted in over 100 city centre shops, restaurants, bars and attractions it is a fabulous way to treat that special someone.
Launched on 20th September 2018 by Bath BID. The Bath Gift Card, set to encourage local spending, can be used at more than 190 shops, restaurants, cafes, hotels, salons, entertainment venues, attractions and more.
The Chichester Gift Card launched by Chichester Business Improvement District designed to retain more money in Chichester and help to promote the city centre businesses. The Chichester Gift Card launched with over 100 businesses.
The Edinburgh Gift provides one gift card which can be used across 50 city centre businesses. The gift card makes the ideal gift for friends, family and also provide a new corporate tool for rewards and recognition programmes. The programme is designed to lock in more money for participating Edinburgh businesses.

The Shawlands Gift Card will be able to be used across the Shawlands area of Glasgow. The programme will be delivered by Shawlands Business Improvement District and is designed to act as both a way of locking spend for participating businesses and as a focus for marketing activity.
