Our Gift Card Programmes

Miconex have the pleasure of working with towns and cities across the UK to help them develop new gift card programmes using the existing Visa infrastructure.  As you can see from the list below this model works in places of different sizes from the large cities of Cardiff, Glasgow and Sheffield to the beautiful Island of Arran, population 5,000.

The Perth Gift Card

The Perth programme is a partnership between Perth and Kinross Council and Miconex, launched in our home town in December 2015.  This programme focusses on indpeendent businesses only and its success has allowed Miconex to roll out the programme to other towns and cities across the UK.

The Kendal Gift Card

Kendal Business Improvement District had already researched local currencies so when Sarah Williams (BID Manager) found out about The Perth Gift Card she immdeiately wanted to find out more and then go on to develop her own programme which is now accepted by over 130 Kendal businesses.

Visit West End Gift Card

The Visit West End Gift Card wa launched in December 2016 by Byres Road and Lanes Business Improvement District.  The gift card can be used in this area of Glasgow only, helping to lock in money for the BID businesses.  

The Arran Gift Card
STATUS: Live  |  LAUNCH DATE: 22/03/2017

The beautiful Isle of Arran may be the only island in Europe with their own hyper-local currency!  Thanks to this go to Visit Arran for identifying that a gift card programme that can be used across all the key businesses on the island would make a perfect gift and of course, the lucky recipients need to visit the island to redeem it!

Cheltenham Gift Card

The Cheltenham Gift Card was launched by Cheltenham Business Improvement District in August 2017.  Miconex enjoyed working with Kevan and Belinda at the BID to help explain the programme benefits to the BID businesses and we are delighted to see that there is now a fantastic mix of independents and multiples.

The Glasgow Gift Card

The Glasgow Gift Card brings together Glasgow Restaurant Association, Glasgow's Leading Attractions, Glasgow Hotel Association and Glasgow Life into one city-wide gift card.

A Gift Card For Cardiff

Launched by Cardiff Business Improvement District - A Gift Card FOR Cardiff is an independent gift card for the city centre. With our help you can give the gift of your favourite city for any occasion. We can cater to coffee lovers & vintage fashionistas, culture seekers & sports fans. 

Enniskillen Gift Card

Enniskillen Business Improvement District have launched the first town-wide gift card programme in Northern Ireland.  Over 100 business accept the gift card covering a huge range of different business types.  

Newport Gift Card
STATUS: Live  |  LAUNCH DATE: 23/11/2017

The Newport Now Gift Card – organised and funded by the Newport Now Business Improvement District – can be spent on almost anything, anytime, anywhere in the city centre.

Almost 60 city centre businesses have already signed up to accept the card, with shops, restaurants, bars, cafes and theatres all involved.

InStrabane Gift Card

We are working with Strabane Business Improvement District on a town gift card which will be free for all the BID businesses to join and create a new local currency.

Sheffield Gift Card

The Sheffield Gift Card was launched by Sheffield BID enabling Sheffielders to treat family and friends to the ultimate local gift – the Sheffield City Centre Gift Card!

Elgin Gift Card

Delighted to be working with Embrace Elgin Business Improvement District to create a new gift card programme which will be useable across the BID area.
