Town and City Gift Card programmes are designed to lock in additional spend for participating business communities. They drive footfall into town centres, encourage discovery of new businesses and stimulate additional economic activity. The Mastercard programmes are easy to set up and can even be self-funding.

For Place Managers
The Mastercard-based gift card programme provides a product to sell on behalf of your businesses.
It’s simple to set up, measurable, provides new insight and creates a new revenue stream for your town/city.
For Businesses
A local gift card programme is a proven way of introducing new customers to your business. It’s simple and free to register to accept the card, and you receive your money automatically via the existing Mastercard infrastructure.
For Consumers
A town/city gift card provides more choice than any single-branded gift card.
It’s a great alternative to Amazon, Google and Apple gift cards and supports the local economy.

  • "We’ve had £40,000 in spend in the city. "

We’ve had an additional £40,000 in spend in the city. Forty businesses out of 70 have had redemption of some sort. Perth & Kinross Council has also signed up to pay their Long Service awards in the Perth Card. That’s been great.

Leigh Brown, City Centre Manager, Perth
  • "We wanted to try to keep spend local"

“We’re facing competition from online and from out of town –in GlasgoW we’ve got Braehead, Silverburn and Buchanan Galleries which are large shopping centres with their own gift cards. We’re providing a platform where the West End could be seen as a real alternative to those newer out-of-town places."

Deborah Murray, BID Project Manager, West End, Glasgow
  • "We’re adding to their customer base rather than taking away"

Some businesses say, ‘But I’ve got my own gift card,’ and we say, ‘That’s OK! This is actually adding to it.’ We’ve got Boots, Mountain Warehouse, Booths, Beales and Pizza Express to sign up. These businesses have their own gift cards but they’ve realised we’re adding to their customer base rather than taking away
